BIP-110 was free to fork, and the network was free not to follow. The result was decisive: about 99.85% of Bitcoin's hashpower stayed with Bitcoin. The BIP-110 branch mined only two blocks and is already more than 80 blocks behind. Bitcoin has proven it can do far more than host the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. Through pure market mechanisms it can naturally evolve into a general-purpose high-value data layer. I emphasize high-value data layer because it filters out low-value and worthless information by design. Human mathematical and scientific knowledge still lives mostly in papers. In the coming AI era, knowledge created by AI will appear as AI chat logs, formal verification done by other AIs, and traditional papers. Institutional inertia dies hard, so papers will stick around for a long time. weweweai is the AI Discovery Archive. Right now it primarily surfaces AI-created knowledge and human-AI collaborative knowledge in the form of AI chat logs. Over time it will also pull in AI formal verification results and paper formats into the same archive. More importantly, New Crypto Space acts as the value layer for knowledge. It works by minting Bitcoin inscriptions that point to DOI links of traditional papers, or by minting Bitcoin inscriptions that point to the permanent IPFS-native links generated in sync on weweweai for AI chat logs. These inscriptions become the value carriers for knowledge produced by humans or by AI. On the Bitcoin network they evolve under market forces and ultimately crystallize into high-value data. This may become an entirely new paradigm for incentivizing AI to generate valuable knowledge, an evolutionary successor to the Nobel Prize and the Fields Medal in the AI age. Even the act of rewarding knowledge creators will shift from evaluation by small human groups such as the scientific community to evaluation determined by algorithms, mathematics, nature, and market mechanisms.
